Wine and Gastronomy tour in the heart of Malta

Sep 9, 2009

On Site Malta has once again brainstormed to come up with a unique and special incentive programme for those conference and incentive travellers, wishing to add some Mediterranean flavour to their stay on the island.

Malta’s known human history dates back to around 5000 BC and since then has experienced a multitude of influences, not only in culture but also in gastronomy. All those who ruled Malta left their mark: such as the Romans, the Arabs and the Knights.

During this 3 night programme, the guests will feast their senses with lunches in exclusive locations, sample some of Malta’s best produce during their activities, such as Extra Virgin Olive Oil and Maltese Honey, as well as taste some of the best indigenous wines on the island. A Bread Baking activity can also be included in the programme, where the guests will be able to bake the typical Maltese bread, called ‘Ftira’ and actually assist the baker in baking it in the traditional Maltese way.

Another highlight in this culinary programme is a Cooking lesson, which can be set up in a Wine Estate, where the group is split into 4 teams. Each team will have a dedicated chef and will prepare the 3 course lunch by cooking a course each. The ingredients to be used for cooking the lunch can either be picked up on the spot or else prior to the lesson; we can team up with the chefs, and create an activity for the buying of the ingredients.

Dining will take the guests to places such as medieval forts, typical farmhouses and fine dining establishments, all savouring the culinary delights, prepared by Malta’s top chefs.
